zigzagged!
I’m so excited about finishing my Zigzag hat that even though it’s far too hot for a wool hat and I have no natural light for the pictures, I have to share right now! (All the shots that included my full face turned out very strange, so it’s another one from above.)
I figured out [...]
weekend productivity
Saturday afternoon, I finished Sky Cozy. Of course I still haven’t sewn in the ends, but it’s off the needles and about half a foot taller than I am (if it could stand). A couple other FOs: another Nautilus hat (to match the Summer Sky wristwarmers) and half of a pair of [...]
Attack of the 4 foot…
Sky Cozy. The last picture I took was at 8 inches, and it’s grown quite a bit since then. I’m now a few inches into my fourth skein, and it’s over 4 feet long. Here’s a picture of it as a skinny blanket, in the vague shape of my legs and stomach.
I [...]
woohoo
I spent a little time this morning working on this site, and I’m so excited to have a picture at the top of the page! I still want to redo it with a better image, but until then it’s a big improvement over what I had before. Right now I need to go [...]
sock dreams
For some reason, I feel like I had a dream last night that involved knitting socks. I’ve never knit socks, and I’ve never had any strong desire to. I know I dreamt that today went by without my package of tea arriving (which would mean waiting until Monday). I really hope that [...]
“are those plastic?”
On the airplane this morning, while waiting for takeoff, I was working on knitting a wristwarmers on bamboo DPNs. The passenger sitting in the opposite window seat in my row flagged down a flight attendant and asked her something very quietly (she had to lean over to hear him). I saw her turn [...]
half cozy
I’m done with my second skein (there’ll be four total) of Sky Cozy. Now that I can visualize what it’ll be like twice as long… wow. It’s too dark (and late) for pictures, but it’ll be finished soon enough.
red hat
I’m still plugging away on the blue Cozy. I had completed about two feet by the end of the weekend, and did an additional six inches last night. It’ll be no problem to meet my Oct. 6 (I think) deadline, but at this point I’m more anxious to finish so that I can [...]
blue coziness
First, FO in action! My second pair of cabled wristwarmers. These are for some guitar playing hands, so I tested them out…
My new major WIP happens to be in the same color of Cascade 220 (Summer Sky), though it’s for a different recipient (someone great at work who’s leaving next month). It’s [...]
little lesson
This is what I learned today:
When you’re knitting cables on the plane and you’re on a twisty row (of cabling, not the plane) when they tell you to turn off your portable electronic devices and to return your tray tables and seat backs to their full upright and locked position (can you tell I’m a [...]
