more felting
This felting thing? Lots of fun!
Here are two of the three things I felted tonight in their pre-felted state, the Sophie bag and another FMB Petite:
I’ll post pictures of them after felting once they’re in a position to be posed. I’m so excited! I don’t even mind the extra effort that goes [...]
felted!
Thursday night I started to knit a Sophie bag. I also started to get very excited about felted bags in general and began to plan others I wanted to make next, but then I remembered that I had never felted before. And especially since I don’t have a washing machine of my own, [...]
#2 and #3
I’ve gone a little MaryElla crazy….
First, a skinnier version in red on red:
Next, a full size amethyst on silver:
For fit, I made these so that the ends touched around my wrist unstretched, so they stretched pretty nicely for a snug fit. Soon I’ll need to order more beads to keep the MaryEllas coming. [...]
MaryElla #1
I finished knitting MaryElla Wednesday night to the sounds of America’s Next Top Model and the smells of soda bread and truffles. (In other words, not at my house. MaryElla begins
My MaryElla kits arrived today, so tonight I spent a couple hours watching (primarily listening to) The Empire Strikes Back while stringing the beads. Little did I know that was the easy part!
I knew that the needles were tiny and the thread was thin, but I didn’t realize the extent until I started knitting. [...]
new project search
Well, my Hooray For Me Gloves are postponed indefinitely. On Friday I went to several different stores to find proper sock yarn for them… with no luck. I also made the decision that I really wanted to use the Regia Multi Effekt yarn. I found it online at FuzzyMabel and immediately placed [...]
package pictures!
I’ve been happily plugging away on the cloche, and all that’s left is the inner brim. I’ve gotten used to the tiny needles, especially with the smoothness of the Koigu that makes it so easy to knit. I realized that while smaller stitches mean you need to knit more of them, they also [...]
