Community
I am continually amazed by the knitting community, and I feel so lucky and proud to be part of it. It’s a community that bands together to raise money or warmth for important causes. It’s how I have something great to do every Tuesday night, which always leads to laughter, learning new things, and starting or growing amazing friendships. It leads to things like slumber parties where after a night filled with music, movies, junk food, and alcohol, the next morning brings a gathering of knitters around the kitchen table as one by one we wake up, pick up our needles, and take a seat.
We share our joys, and we share our sorrows. And throughout it all in groups both small and large, we support each other, we care about each other, and we do whatever we can.
A lot of sorrow has hit my little corner of this community this week. Please keep my dear friend Kate, her brother, and their family in your thoughts during a very tough time.

Well said… the bonds I have formed through stitching have impacted my life so strongly… and in times of sorrow, I am reminded of the strength and support of the community. At a tough point in my life, I took up crochet and that’s how I met you!
